HBDO is a women-led NGO that started its initial activities with the self-financial support of the leadership team who were working at international NGOs and governmental and non-governmental private companies. We have strived to do fundraising to have wider intervention in the areas of women’s support and empowerment. We have started running literacy training for illiterate women in Herat province since the establishment of HBDO. We are still running literacy classes for illiterate women in the Injil district, but recently due to the ban on women’s education, temporarily stopped our activities.
