About Us

Herai Banoo Development Organization (HBDO) is an Afghan women-led NGO founded on November 07, 2015, under registration number No. 3739 with the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan. HBDO’s core mandate is advocating the at-risk women and children to reach their full potential through running women empowerment initiatives, child protection, and community mobilization in Herat, Afghanistan. Though HBDO is a newly established NGO, it has a dedicated leadership team full of energy, experience, and qualification in women empowerment, protection, and advocacy. They got this experience working at different national and international NGOs in Afghanistan. 

HBDO has implemented several small-scale projects on vocational training for women, strengthening social cohesion in the local community, community social dialogue, literacy courses for women, women empowerment training, self-advocacy campaigns, and inclusion of women with disabilities in the community.
